As your personal writing tutor, our live 1-on-1 teachers will see and interact with your child as they share a live word processor that will include our curriculum and your child’s work.
Technology Requirements
A computer or tablet (with keyboard) is required and headphones with a microphone. Students will improve their typing skills as they work with our teachers and the headphones keep them focused during their sessions with our teachers.
Strenghten Writing Fundamentals
Developing a strong grammar foundation is fundamental to make writing easier for students. We assess your child to determine their needs so we can develop a customized curriculum to reinforce or challenge their writing skills.
Frustrated, resistant child?
Most students who are resistant to writing need to be retaught the fundamentals of grammar. Starting with vocabulary development, sentence development, paragraph organization and more.
Rough start?
Our curriculum is designed to teach students how to work on the individual components needed to write a cohesive essay. This also includes teaching students how to brainstorm and organize their ideas so they can easily convey these ideas in their writing.
Not understanding teacher expectations?
Our curriculum meets grade-level standards so your child with the help of their private writing tutor will be taught how to include all the necessary components in their writing as required by the state standards.
Who Are We
We are educators that want to help students love to write. We also want to alleviate parent frustrations that we’ve heard over the years while working in schools regarding helping their children improve their writing skills. Working in classroom sizes of more than 25 students isn’t ideal to personalize instruction for each individual student.
We started and work at Writing by Typing because we want to tutor and make writing easy and fun for all students.
